Many years ago AKG offered the budget model K-40 phones. They were cheap built and cost, but amazing comfort and frequency response. Good bass definition to below 40hz and overall very good sound. I paid less than $25 for these phones in 1982 for my girlfriend. We still have/use the K-40's for recording/listening though the foam ear pieces have been replaced. That these phones have lasted 36 years is a testament to AKG quality construction. Nice to see that these Y-40 phones carry on the value of AKG brand.
