This has been my main system amplifier for about 15 years now, and I have no plans to replace it. It is superbly quiet, has enough power for my 89 dB 1w/1m/8ohm speakers, and sounds excellent.

If I were to describe it's sonics I would say it's Solid-State clean but Vacuum State sweet. Images go beyond the physical boundaries of the speakers left to right, and are if anything larger than life, yet are easily located.

The soundstage has decent but not superlative depth.

Vocals sound rich and inviting, you can discern subtle overtones such as being able to nail the guitar sonics (ie a telecaster vs a stratocaster); it does not mush up the overtones that define different specific instruments.

Tthere is no evidence of a lack of bass definition, and the top end is sweet, never harsh or grating.

I do experiment with different power amps, solid state and vacuum state, but this unit is staying unless through some huge stroke of luck I get a deal on a Sonic Frontiers model.
