My first impressions the first time I met my 8000P were how heavy it was, the second was how sharp the bottom edges were, do not let this model slide in your hands or you will end up with a nasty cut.
That's got all my negative comments out of the way, now for the positives.
Built like a brick with an excellent power supply the 8000P is rather stealthy, a bit like a Subaru Forester XT, newer flashier models line up at the lights with it and.... are simply blown away.
It has power aplenty, and drives my nominally 6 ohm Tannoy DC3000's with complete authority, even down 2 x 7m of good old Linn LK20, I can think of no better way of getting this sort of genuine sound quality, build quality, sheer grunt and stealth appeal for the sort of money these generally go for second hand.
If you are ever advised not to buy one, be suspicious, the adviser may have his eye on it too.
I drop it one mark because i actually cut myself on mine.
