These radios have a very pleasant, relatively powerful, audio. Great for general listening. Listen for hours. Their sensitivity and selectivity are comparable with the radio in a high end car of the era. They are ruggedly constructed to withstand automotive / portable environments. They have an input for an external audio source and a 90 Ohm Motorola connector for an external antenna. There are several very similar models with slightly different band plans.

re: Derby Deluxe

Those Blaupunkt portable transistor radios was very famous over here in Finland way back in the 1960´s. Very stable and sensitive FM . Most of the time we´re tuned to Swedish FM and that transmitter was almost 100 miles to north on Kalix ! Only West - German made portable radios has that kind of sensitivity.
