re: Products

I own a Concept 6.5, 4.5D, and a ELC I. The receivers are designed and built really well. The sound they reproduce is detailed, balanced with great 3-D imaging. Out of the receiver 'collection' I've managed to grow, the Concept's I keep gravitating to. There's something about them. The ELC 1 cassette deck is a heavy monster. It sounded good but I felt something is missing, dynamics perhaps even after new belts and serviced to specs. Months later it just stopped functioning- nothing happens, no FF, RW, Play...only powers on/off. Turns out these units have solenoid issues and part availability is moot.
I'd like to get a ELC 2 but they are rare and reliability info is just as rare.
Overall, I have nothing negative to comment on the receivers by Concept. Or Quadraflex receivers, which my folks had when I was growing up. Pacific Stereo had the goods. Had I'd known how good they are and foresaw the rise of HT crap, I would of asked Santa Clause to bring me two 16.5's (one as a back up just in case) since I was around 9 -10 +years old during the Golden years and monster receiver war; I would have said 'Concept's are rad.' Thirty four years later, now I'm a vintage audio crackhead....I mean enthusiast/ connoisseur.
