Agree that the PSX-R improves it - to my ears it was in the bass performance, but otherwise very detailed and clean sound. I've kept it for over 20 years so I guess it can't be too bad!

The Cyrus 3 was the first in a long line of Cyrus components using a new compact, cast chassis design.
Remote control and pre out were welcome additions but the phono stage was a step back from previous Cyrus designs.
Needs the PSXR to really perform.

power amp comparable to Straight Line

At least the Power amp is comparable to that one in the Cyrus Straight Line regarding names for the components and the layout. The ratings in Ohm and Farad are different.
