I owned a 1520 for about 20 years, sold it to a friend, and bought a 1560 to replace it. It lasted for about another five and the laser went out. The laser is one of those HIDEOUSLY expensive Sony's that are out of production and now (apparently) only available in China. I eventually missed the Denon House Sound so much I bought the 100th anniversary DCD-A100, which if anything, sounds even better and does double duty as a D/A converter. I still have the 1560, and will probably keep it just in case a laser comes along in the future. If yours is in good shape, treasure it, and do NOT leave it on DISC repeat play.......
