re: DR-M3

Been using this site as a valuable source of information the past couple of years but have never posted anything here. But I was at a thrift store in St. Louis mo and found a Denon DR-M3 casstete deck that looks like it just got unpacked from a time capsule from 1982. This piece is in excellent condition both inside and outside. I had to tell someone about this because it is very likely to be the best find of mine to date.

Silver and black face, wood sides and a total of 5 very very light scratches on it that can only be seen if you are in the right light, looking at it at the right angle. This piece is nice.

Opening the door and looking inside it looks like it is new. Absolutely no dust, dirt, first thing I did was clean the heads and my swab was just as clean when I was done as when I started.

Sound, well I had a couple friends try and tell the difference between a new vinyl record and a recording of the same and all but one could not tell the difference and I think the one guessed.

Have abandoned cassettes many years ago but think I may buy some now just to make a couple of “mix tapes” like the old days.
