I wish I could comment on the 700A. I do own a DRM-800A deck and believe that they are very similar. Useful features abound; rec return, two color sixteen segment (per channel) LED meters with peak hold, three motor, three head, twin capstans, digital counter that measures in real time and Dolby Hx Pro. Tapes made on this deck sound fantastic. Wow and Flutter and S/N are great (0.045% and 74dB) respectively.
