An amp with decent dynamics with an overall neutral to slightly warm tonal balance.

Nice phono stage that I've used with Ortofon (both MM and MC) cartridges and found it produces a nice dynamic sound with decent bass weight and pleasant highs. It does have a noticeably higher noise floor on the MC setting, but it is in no way objectionable and does not interfere with the music and more or less is masked by/blends into the surface noise from records anyway.

The CD Direct function provides a nice pure sound from CD or other digital sources.

I've never found the need to use the tone controls to boost or attenuate either bass or treble, I find the amp has a nice tonal balance with both dials left in the neutral position.
