re: TK 5

dear friends, this reel to reel player works with the uk twin track reels? that plays channels 1+2 side a, and 3+4 side b. thank you

re: TK 5

Leo,I don't know if anyone has replied to your request so here goes;

Grundig TK5 is a 2 track machine,also known as Half track,this means that Half of the tape ,side A is taken up with the recording,at the end turn over the tape to record side B.

The tape you are referring to is a 4 track(quarter) tape which is recorded as follows side A track 1+4,
side B track 2+3 ,whilst it is possible to play a Half track tape on a 4track machine and switch off one channel,this can not be done in reverse,as your 4 track tape would reproduce channel 2 in reverse!

I hope you may still be able to find some pre recorded 2 track tapes,HMV made a lot! otherwise you have to make your own ,which is fun doing.

I hope this does not confuse too much, Good luck.
