re: A230

got it used from ebay, took it to the repair shop, they soldered some Points and changed a tube ,when it came back - whow!

this little unit blows away every Transistor unit I had. I am a musician, this is a music instrument. It´s so much better than my Marantz and my old Akai AM2800!

You can boost the bass and the treble is not affected, it stays always airy and open. If you push the Level too much, you can hear the smooth tube Saturation - perfect.

CD Player is a Phillips CD 850 MKII, all instruments sound excellent, but the big difference Comes, when you hear voices. It produces real Music, not a photocopy like the Transistor Units. There is not a single semiconductor in this unit, it has a rectifier tube. Pure old metal and tubes nake the Sound, that´s it!
