Owned many vintage amps of all makes our the years and you'll be hard pressed to find anything that can out perform this gem. Have compared some high end amps with the A402 and couldn't find one that out did this guy. The A402's are not for sale too often, if you come across one at reasonable price Grab It! If your not lucky enough to come across one the 2nd choice is the HK730 receiver which is very similar dual powered amps.

Fantastic little integrated amplifier.

Very clean and clear sound with heaps of bass and outstanding channel separation.

Wonderful overall sound.

I've had one of these units since I bought it new in 1977 and have always been astonished at the clarity and power it delivers at 40wpc. One of the best amps available from this period, hands down - especially considering the price.

This is one of the best vintage amps I've laid my hands on. If you can find it for under 350$, in good working order, it's a bargain.
Of course, there are some 1000$ vintage amps which are superior, but you'd have to spend a lot more to get a noticeable superior sound.
Soundstage and detail are astonishing. Building quality, simply unseen nowadays.
This is a great, heavy, dual amplification model.
Love it.
