re: CD491

I would like to know how to adjust the coils: L501, L502, L561 and L562, I have the service manual but I can not find those adjustments. I think I have problems with those coils.
I have been servicing my Harman Kardon CD491 and this adjustment is the only one missing.
Can somebody help me?

re: CD491

Hi Ernesto,

According to the block diagrams, those coils are only used for Dolby C. There is one for each channel, both playback and record. The service manual doesn't mention that they should be adjusted. What is the problem that you are having? Is it with Dolby C?

Of all of the tape decks that I have serviced in 25 years, this model was my all-time worst deck to align. It was never possible to get all of the alignments perfect, no matter how much you tweaked the settings.
