Probably one of the most underrated and best pre amps ever made.

Build quality is industrial. Sound quality is fantastic. Quality knobs and sliders. Very quiet with no hum or hiss from the EQ section like the Citation Eleven produces.

Even in today's market (2017), I consider this to be one of the best analog pre amps you can get. They are becoming more and more rare so I would grab one if you have the opportunity. Get it recapped / serviced.

Pair this pre amp with any power amp for amazing sound but it excels with the Citation Twelve and Citation Sixteen power amps. The frequency response is stellar, having ultra-wide bandwidth this allows the full signal to come through. Amazing.

The C17 is also very well appointed with 3 Aux inputs, 2 Pre outs, 2 tape inputs, 2 tape outputs, 2 tape monitors and a tuner input. The volume knob is a 32-step / fixed-resistors attenuator.

Available in Silver or Black.
