Very clean, robust sounding low-wattage receiver with some warmth. Very sensitive tuner section is one of the best I've heard and sounds clean and open. Perhaps this is the ultrawideband bit? It picks up lots of stations in a metropolitan area without an additional antenna. Even at just 1 on its tuner signal strength meter, it has strong reception.

At this point, all hk350i receivers and others from this time period (or earlier) will benefit from having their front buttons and dials spritzed with some contact cleaner to eliminate crackly sound and channel dropout, as well as a full recap to bring them back to their former sonic glory.

While not my favorite looking vintage hk receiver, it still comes highly recommended if quality sound is what you're after and not just overall wattage or volume.

I bought a Harman Kardon HK350i from a Salvation Army store for $15 after I had some left speaker channel problems. The price was right for a temporary replacement. To my surprise, this tuner/receiver was a very good substitute. The sound was crisp and clear. No crackles or pops. My vinyl record had no distortion and played excellently. The FM was clear with no hiss. All in all a good product
