Total sleeper receiver. Scott was renowned for tube amps in the 1960s and had an uneven response to solid state in the early 1970s, being surpassed by others. The R376 was a very strong response. This is a monster receiver for 1977 by Scott, not overly powered, but pushes far above its states 75W/channel. The build quality is equal to Sansui, Pioneer and Marantz, even if the fit and fisnish is slightly below them and equivalent to Technics and Sony. The ability to play MM and MC turntables at the flick of a switch is very handy and flexible. It is nearly equivalent in size and weight to the Technics SA700 -a fine example for more money. The FM tuner is nearly as good as Pioneer and Yamaha, great company indeed. Scott maintained quality with thi unit in 1977 while others changed circuitry to chase the watt wars. Kudos to Scott for making such a great component that suffers no poor decisions or design characteristics. Nice layout, design and appearance with subdued amber lighting more akin to the early 1970s era.
