In 1982 I was a real CC nerd and looked for a replacement of my JVC KD-10. The new JVC DD decks were outstanding that time but far above my budget as student.
In 2016 I got by chance my great love JVC DD-9 as used item. I had just to align the erase head, to fix the cabinet door damping and general cleaning inside and outside. It operates very good in all maters. Even the DD and B.E.S.T computer however it has small issue with sensitivity setting, but we have to consider it' age and age of tape material. Therefore the sound is impressive. So near to the source even with today high quality sources. I like the buttons / motor driven level control, peak or VU meter, the design and solid switches / technic. That it works after 35 years in good shape is typical for JVC. Never had issues with this brand. Just a lightning stroke killed my amplifier once.
I really hope that this deck accompany the rest of my audio life. Two small videos are uploaded to YouTube to show fixed door damping and the B.E.S.T run.
