I bought one of these amps new in the 1970's, having read favourable reviews in the HiFi press. This was my first new purchase, intended to replace a secondhand entry-level unit which was cheap & common back in the day. (Though I'm unable to recall the make)
Spool forward some 35-40 years, & this amp is still the powerhouse of my main setup;- various record decks, cassette recorders, tuners, CD players & speakers have come & gone, but the JVC is still working perfectly, delivering good-quality, clear sound at sufficient volume to fill my whole house with music, should I so desire. The only problem I've ever had was losing one channel due to dirt in one of the switches, (quickly solved with a squirt of 'servisol'), plus having lost one of the switch toggles, which is no big deal..
This amplifier must have cost me around half a month's salary when purchased, but I feel I've had my money's worth, & then some.. Possibly the most reliable thing I've ever owned...

re: JA-S10

I have one and it was operating flawless till last week when one channel went mute. Been told it may b a dry joint or dry switch n jus need to spray a lil bit of WD 40 to remove the rust. Where are these switches located?
