Built when the ultra popular Pioneer SX-780 dominated the 45-50 watt class of receivers. The JVC R-S7 delivers 50 watts with a sound quality that gave is rival a run for it's money. It lacks a few of the bells and whistle's of the 780 but with the black analog dial has a elegant look and the build quality is certainly equal to it's rival.
Overall the performance of the JVC is terrific and it may never garner the respect it deserves but anyone who owns one knows it's fine receiver that has stood the test of time.

Very nice unit. I love mine. Surprisingly, when considering the build quality and power, this unit is available at very reasonable prices. JVC equipment of the "silver front era" flies under the radar.
