Compared to the Sony Decks of the day these were much better quality sound wise and in terms of reliability. Not used much anymore, but mine is still running strong 25 years later. Even normal bias tape using Dolby C and HXpro sound so good, my golden eared friends were fooled that they were not listening to the CD that it was recorded from. Easy to set manual Bias and Dolby level using the test tone generator and VU meters makes perfectly optimizing each and every tape a snap. a peak level memory helps make sure recordings have no oversaturated hot spots when the process is over. this is a recording Machine, not a toy. All metal cabinet is beautiful, and overall has a nice quality feel.
