Solid clean power for an IC 65 watt amp, nice caps, and transformers. Old school wire wrap build quality is well laid out and easy to repair. Weak points are mostly cold solder joints like at the power switch (common to fail) red LED on face but relay not energized.

These units (KA-7100/KA-7300) are rock-solid performers and can be still be found in nice condition at very reasonable prices. Mine required nothing but a bit of dust removal (to cure that old electronics smell) and a bit of Deoxit on the contacts. The KA-7300 is currently powering a sub-sat system, and the KA-7100 is on a pair of Wharfdales that are part of my multi-room audio setup. These amps are a huge sonic improvement over the much newer (but still vintage) NAD receivers I had been using, and they weren't bad. Testing the units with KEF 103.2's they both performed very well indeed. The sound is warmer than the NAD's but every bit as detailed, and the imaging/staging is superior. As a bonus, the units easily serviced if need be.

I bought this amp new in 1975. Upgraded it from 65w to 80w in the late 80's. still works very well, with the exception of a volume control, that I believe has corroded contacts. looking for someone to fix it.
