Just finished re-capping my 8100, all I can say is Kenwood built a beast with this one. These things have an amazing dual tranny setup, which sounds fantastic. Parts are pretty easy to find too, which makes them keepers !

re: KA-8100

How many capacitors must be replaced. (nr.)
Of course the best answer is: all :)
What type of capacitor you use. (producer/type)

re: KA-8100

Check Qe11 voltages. It may be shorted or open.

Also, look at the resistors, thermister (THe1), and VRe3 for signs of overheating or failure.
