I've had this amp ( bought second hand) for years. It had some issues after a while, had it properly serviced. I've always liked the true tone in tune direct - mode (bypassing the equaliser). The input sources do have an impact and make a real difference. So chose your sources by comparison to find the rendition you like best. I use Translator Impact 40 floorstanders. Perfect match to my taste. Sources are Dual 1219 and Onkyo Integra DX-706 cd-player. So if you can find a KA 990: take your time to try it.

Beautiful amplifier but very expensive and difficult in case of problems on power stage.
Sound not so good.
