re: KR-820

I have one of these KR820 since new, and have just dusted it off, but, the fm display is off, I tune to 96.1 and it tunes to 96.2 and it plays station, but has no memory, I read the owners manual and it states that a replaceable battery is inside, need to know where it is located and how to access it to replace it. Also, has very limited range with antenna, used to pick up many stations with it, but not now. Would like to resurrect it and enjoy it again. Help

re: KR-820

Just got a KR-820 and have been trying to hook some speakers up to it without much success - can't get the wire to stay in the receptacles. Been using 18 gauge but was wondering if it needs to be something bigger. Have the wire insulation stripped back about 1/2" but don't have a manual for it so not sure that's the right amount. HELP!!

re: KR-820

Hi,

Those speaker connectors were never very reliable. You are turning the connector to the left and inserting the wire and then turning the connector clockwise to lock the wire in? You might try stripping more of the insulation off of the 18 gauge wire and then folding the wire in order to increase the diameter that is inserted. If that doesn't work, it is very possible that one or more of the connectors is broken.
