re: R-1120

I brought mine back in 2015.
This receiver will blow your head off, it has way to much power to be used in a home.
The sound quality this thing puts out is just incredible.
It has a "FULL" body sound to it.
The bottom end [bass] this receiver produces is out of this world.
Try and find one of these for sale now.
These are "HIGHLY" collectible and are rarely seen for sale.
Back in the day Luxman was the go too brand for quality because you knew what you were getting.
This Luxman receiver is really that good .... if you find one for sale "BUY IT".
Alot of people love the look of this receiver but I do not .... each to their own I guess.
Who cares about looks when this receiver sounds as good as it does without breaking a sweat.

re: R-1120

One ch. very distorted at ouput stage but protection comes on. Signal OK at start of driver board. Voltages mostly good but only slightly off. Open R 515 (39k).

re: R-1120

Protection light keeps blinking, no sound. Low voltage/ protect board PB-1127. After making sure there is no DC present at L-in + R-in terminals and checking F-805 inspect C-810 (220@16vdc) for visual deformity and replace. This is of course after you have made sure that the outputs are not shorted.

One of the best receiver

The Luxman 1120 is one of the best receivers ever produced. I think of other like Harman Kardon, Marantz, Tanberg, but the 1120 is definitely a standout. Below are some of my other favorite receivers.

Marantz 2275
Harman Kardon 930, Citation Receiver
Luxman R1050,1070

I've been an Audio Technician for over 30 years, repairing and listening to virtually any receiver ever made.

My top 2 on list-
Luxman R1120 and H/K 730.
So I couldn't agree more!
