Impressive middle of the range sample of MARANTZ integrated amplifiers from the 1970s. Made in Japan but designed in the USA. At 36Watts, it does not seem powerful on paper, but match it to 300W-500W floor standing speakers, you'll be amazed how the volume does not need to go above position 2 or 2.5 before it shakes the whole room with lively music! I have had mine fully recapped and checked for transistor reliability etc. So it's almost brand new. Sounds comparable to SANSUI AU555a, AU3900, AU4900 and boasts even more power than the Luxman L30, L80 and L80V. Superb with pop, rock, jazz and the classics! The music is sweetest in the midrange and lower ends. Recommended price fully recapped: US$340.00.
