Marantz 1180DC sign of audio by one channel of the preamplifier

my amplifier marantz 1180 dc only has sign of audio by one channel of the preamplifier outputs on the rear apron, someone knows this type of failure?

re: 1180DC

There are mistakes in the schematic for the 1180DC. They are in the current limiter circuit. (they might not be the only ones)

At the top is close to correct. the junction of RT19 and RT11 do go to the base of QT01, CT01 and QT09 but DO NOT go to the collector of Q725. The circuit as drawn is a smoke generator. Thate part only has the one error. The other four current limiting circuits have different errors.

With the connection to the collector of Q725 eliminated, that particular circuit is correct. The other three are supposed to be the same, but of course two of them are on the negative halves of the circuits.

It also seems to show R712 as 212 ohms. It is 2.2 ohms.

If just one of these four were correct it would be easy to figure out, but ALL of them are in error.

This does look like a scan of the original manufacturer's manual. Mistakes are more common than most people realize, and I have seen quite a few over the last 35 years. Maybe they are testing us. Maybe they like to have things go poof and sell a new amp.

re: 1180DC

Were there any phono stage service bulletins regarding this model. I have had two with lots of phono problems. the one I have currently appears stock but has a resistor and diode in series at R419 and R424. Guessing this is a factory mod??
