Have Marantz 2250 driving a pair of renovated Speaker Lab K horns. Using updated crossover from last K horns they made. The Marantz sounds wonderful with these big, but very efficient, speakers.

Nice receiver, but the weak spot is that slider balance control - they're prone to wear, get noisy.
Should have used a knob.

Bought this new in 1975 as a senior in high school, paired with some Pioneer CS-99A's. Worked it hard year after year through college, many a party and still runs good. Currently use it with a pair of Marantz HD-770's for listening these days. Built to last and sounds fantastic.

re: 2250b

The "sleeper" of all the marantz receivers.

re: 2250b

what do you mean plz ?

re: 2250b

Sleeper is Slang for -Unexpectedly successful.
When I first turned my 2250b on I thought the speaker were going to jump out of their cones. The bass was unexpected out of a 50 watt receiver. This marantz is advertised at having 7 million repeatable combinations of tone settings. Who needs an equalizer with that kind of adjustability. I love how you still get deep bass tones at low volume settings. That's the secret to the marantz "warm" sound.

re: 2250b

Any amplifier using a tapped volume control is capable of "deep bass" enhancement at lower volumes.
It's certainly no "secret".
