I picked up a 2270 recently and the sound is excellent. A little dissapointed in the phono section. Seems to be lacking punch. My 2235 has more bottom end but the FM and Tape sections are good. Even the digital sounds good through the Aux. Any thoughts or experience out there on this?

Recently acquired a 2270 that was in need of clean-up. The dust and smoke residue is now cleared up and all the pots and switches received De-oxit.
Hooked it up to some old KEF 203 speakers that I had lying around and I was absolutely amazed!!!
Never had a really good stereo set up before, although I heard many multi-buck systems in the past. This set-up will never go to Ebay or Kijiji. I am just loving it . Now to resurrect and service the old TT and get the vinyl out of storage.

Got this 2270 in for a re-cap from the original owner. He loves this receiver and can't wait for me to breath some new life into it.
Thank you for the service manual and schematics.

Can only compare it beside a 2245, 2220, and 1060 here. The 4270 is by far the best sounding. Running it into a 150 watt power amp and really enjoying it!!

I bought my 2270 with wood case March 31,1973 and paid $560.00 from Don Jones Stereo in the Village Shopping Center in Spartanburg,S.C. I just recently replaced a power amp transistor and cleaned the pots and it is still putting out super sounds. It was one of the best decisions I ever made!
