re: Model 27

Received two of them. Both in a faulty condition.
One is a 7 button unit and the other is an older 6 button unit.
Sat down to fix and restore them.
The 6 button unit has/had a power amplifier boards(x2) which is not documented anywhere. Its PCB looks more like hobbyist PCB than a professional one. Eventually had to replace the power amp since its PCB was burnt (literally .. with holes...).
Anyway. The model 27 is a "rugged" built like a tank receiver. Sound is typical Marantz. It has lots of power. The transformer is heavy and can hold power...
Service is quite easy since all modules are faced up exposed. The tuner and FM IF section resembles to older models (so the new models are base don this one...)

re: Model 27

Owned one of these since 1971. Been sitting in box since 1985, replaced by an NAD. Nice receiver tho. Thanks for the service manual.
