These were my first speakers I ever bought in 1981.
Positive sides first:
Power handling is very good, they can really be coupled to powerful amp without problems. Still with small amp the good sensitivity gives you nice feelings and good sound.
Overload protection circuit work as it should. It really stops the dangerous situation and lets speaker without damage. The most important thing is that this circuit teaches you to listen and find dangerous distortion. You will find out the distortion with any speaker after using these.
The bass is very good. And if you listen to rock music you simply love these speakers since they give you low and high frequencies.
Not so good side is these are not the best HiFi speakers you can find. The sound will really do, but you can easily find more natural sound in more expensive speakers.
Still I want to say that these are very good value for the money and the sound is very good. I still like these.
My current speakers are Radiotehnika Gold 500.1 that go really low without problems. I think these Marantz designed speakers are very good, no matter there are better ones. To be honest Ed Mays design was better in many ways, but these are still good remembering the situation they were in.
If you like to get a speaker that reproduces the frequencies from low to high and handle easily excessive power. These are the ones if the price have to remembered too.

re: P1030

I did put my review into comments. Sorry for that. Now it's like it should.

There are many ways to enjoy your speakers. It's not only one or two ways. Sensitivity, frequencies, natural sound, power handling ability. You can't get all so you got to make a compromise. Important is your way to do it and enjoy the music. There is no rules over your choice if you don't like follow them.
