re: PM-30

one channel keeps dropping out, seems to be a fault in the volume control. is there any easy fix for this?

re: PM-30

Selector switch contacts dirty or tarnished...Try some cleaner/lube in the slide switch and check for dry joints..If you tap the board where the switch is located you probably find the sound drops in and out.
It's worth removing the audio input boards and getting your soldering iron out...Be careful with the plastic locating pin (026G) when removing it.
