I have never found a more magnificent tapedeck. Some people argue it's the best portable cassette recorder of all time.

My favourite things about it are:

1. The switch to monitor the input OR off the tape as it's being recorded.

2. The amazing built-in limiter!

3. Controls all make perfect sense.

4. Durable as the sun.

5. Fine bias adjust!

It's true love 3 3 3

re: PMD430

I brought one of these way expensive units for professional reasons about 17 years ago, it really is a quality and rugged unit, being able to run off batteries as well as a rechargeable pack option, pitch control, XLR mic inputs, limiter, 3 heads and it goes on.................Brilliant, still got mine and now use it play my Denon HD8 recordings (best tape ever made).
