Fantastic, and I mean Fantastic build quality! Strong, heavy and beautiful.

Sound quality is among some of the best I have ever heard. Fatigue free listening with a dead quiet background. Similar to high quality separates. Very warm and tube like sound with excellent bass. Let me emphasize the clean, distortion free sound from the highest highs to the lowest lows.

The MA6100 probably sounds better then most integrated amplifiers today (2018) and certainly looks better and is much better built.

The only thing I can say that is somewhat of a dislike for me, is like with most McIntosh products, the MA6100 is so Polite! Which isn't a bad thing really.

If you can find one in great shape and with the wood case, I would recommend picking it up. They really don't make units like this one anymore. Seriously.

Pros...

-That McIntosh sound!
-Form factor is excellent.
-Aesthetics.
-Build quality.
-Sound quality.
-Fantastic pre amp
-Price. Huge bargain for what your getting.

Cons...

-Perhaps slightly too polite for some listeners. Sometimes distortion does sound good!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A great amplifier, a real sound. Full bass and excellent detail. Stunning dynamics and vividness of sound. Acoustics JBL L300?
