I love this AMP!! The McIntosh MC-2255 is my favorite amp ever and I have had several great power amps including amps from SAE, Adcom, Kenwood, Rotel, Yamaha, and several others... The McIntosh Rules. I stumbled on this MC-2255 along with a MX-113 tuner at a thrift store. I couldn't believe it. The clerk/owner knew it was valuable but I got both pieces for $500 as is. I got it home and although both pieces worked (not perfectly), there were some minor issues. I found that most of the lamps were dead in both pieces and the tuning string in the MX-113 was rotted. I worked on both pieces into the night, replacing the tuning string and cleaning all controls & switches and replacing all the lamps with LED's. I originally thought that one channel was less powerful but once the controls were cleaned it worked (works) fine with both channels sounding strong and great. The only remaining issue is this amp has a function check that counts down, which is fine and all functions work fine, but it should have a green lamp that indicates that all is good and that lamp is bad (I can live with that minor fault). I am using this amp with a vintage pair of Epicure speakers with outstanding results. Every time I power it up I stare at it in awe. This amp will stay in my collection... and will be used on a daily basis!!
