re: DA-R15

I have a vintage stereo addiction. I've tried to keep it into the monster category but every so often a mid to low watt/power receiver will find its way to my home for a fresh life. To my surprise, I've enjoyed the receivers with 30-70 watts the most. However the ones that sound better to me have high damping factors. Such as this DA-R15 it cranks and holds speakers with authority. However a wonky volume knob and staticky knobs had to remedied first.
The tuner pulls hard to get stations like 88.9 KUCI with ease.
Another thing I like about this receiver is it's faceplate doesn't light up the whole room. Nor does the receiver warm the room.
Build quality seems good....but I'm not educated enough to remark on the actual inner workings and parts used.
Overall this heavy Mitsubishi has been a welcome addition to the family. Mitsubishi products I've had or have been fairly good in terms of sound quality and operational reliability.

re: DA-R15

I have one,
The volume pot has failed , do you have a parts list or schematic. Did you find it hard to get components
Kind Regards,
David

re: DA-R15

Hi David,

Have you taken a look at the DA-R25 manual? The part for the volume control would be the same. It is unusual for the volume control to fail. Usually it just needs a good dosing of Caig De-Oxit to clean it. Have you tried that?
