Just had one for repair, this amp suffered from lots of dry solder joints, dry capacitors but after re-cap and cleaning, i got some amazing sound from it.
Both Channels are clipping at around 26VRMS on 8 Ohm load so thats a bit more that 80W/ch and considerably higher than 55W/Channels this amp is rated.Plus damping factor of 50 is definitely helping producing nice lows. Not sure why some people commented of low bass response... It has plenty..

Bought this to fill in for my Technics SU V8 while its in the shop. was a little concerned about the only 55 watts. Well after 2 weeks with it I am not really missing that big monster. It really packs a punch along with a pleasant sound. I am really surprised a unit that doesnt wiegh 40 pounds can deliver like this. I think I will be keeping it in rotation.

A bit lacking in the bass, compared to other NAD products. Decent MMMC phono, separate PREPOWER by RCAs on the back, and a bridging switch.

re: 3155

if it lacks in bass thats because the electrolytic capacitors are dried out and out of spec after 30 years. bass needs power and dried out caps can't deliver the necessary power. you'll have to replace the caps, especially the power ones to get the frequency response back down to 20Hz

agree. Sad to see that it only got 3 stars out of 5 based on an amp with dried out electrolytic caps. As far as my experience is concerned the 3155 and the 3140 did deliver plenty of bass. very rich sound in fact.
