I can only assume alen1973 bought a duff unit. I love mine. Beautifully detailed sound, wide soundstaging and plenty of low end grunt too. The rated 40 watts p/c is an incredible understatement. Feels more like 60 - 70. I've had mine for just under a year now and it still surprised me with its musicality.

Amazing build, just reworked one.
Agreed it is a lot more spritie than a 3020 but then it has tone controls to sort that out.
With 4 fets per channel and biased on it delivers way more than 40/channel.

the one i reworked had 4 fets per channel...mmmm strange as the schematic shows 1943/5300 output transistors...perhaps someone changed the panels or there were derivatives of the unit.
