I have always been obsessed with Nakamichi's products. The BX-1 is a savior in terms of price and build quality. When it comes to playback the drive system is seamless and every frequency on the tape shines through brilliantly. There are times I forget that I am actually listening to a cassette. Its wow and flutter is minimal and its signal to noise ratio is phenomenal. It's record quality is nothing shy of sheer amazement, every piece of your recording comes through and upon playback of the recorded material it is on par with gear that is priced much higher. It has Dolby B as well as three bias controls which cover normal to metal tapes. The only thing missing is Dolby C and HDX. With that being said If you need a tape deck but do not want to spend 1,000's of dollars this is the one for you.
