I bought my Nakamichi 3 Receiver, used, in the early 90's. For me, it was the perfect fit for my two bedroom, Queen's Quay apartment in Toronto, which I shared with a good friend of mine to split the crazy high rent. Paired with B&W DM301 bookshelf speakers, they did a fine job of playing my CDs and vinyl long plays. Fast forward to today, and broke out my old Nak 3 to place under my LG 32 LCD screen in my office. I paired it with AIWA speakers from a ZF-3 desktop system, a 1986 Sony CDP-40 and Fiio Kunlun E18 DAC/AMP to digitize FLAC and high-quality Spotify from my laptop. The Nak seems perfectly at home driving this desktop environment, and of course it could do more. It sounds bright and airy. After all these years, it performs perfectly. At the relatively low volumes at my desk, I appreciate the loudness, which adds an appropriate amount of low end weight.

re: Receiver 3

I’m looking for a user manual for the Receiver-3 model. It is not the same as RE-3.
Nakamichi has a service manual for Receiver-3 but I need the user instruction manual.
