Recently purchased this for $100 used at Audio Specialties in Portland, OR., as a temp stereo amp while my Outlaw 7 channel #7125 is in for service.

Well built, and sounds very nice, almost as nice as the Outlaw in two channel mode. Will keep forever as the go to emergency amp when the need arises.

I love classic gear.

I just purchased this model used, and users should note that although two pairs of speakers can be hooked up to it, and though it has front panel switching for the two pairs, one must select one pair or the other, not both. It can drive only one pair of speakers at once.

re: M-501

In other to use two sets of speakers at the same time, you need to have the matching P-301 preamp with the 3.5mm RI cable connected between the P-301 and the M-501. There is a "multi-room" button on the preamp, once this is enabled, you can then turn on both sets of outputs on the amplifier.

re: M-501

I have the P-301 preamp and the M-501 amplifier. You have to connect the RI cable between the two units and then you press the “MULTIPLE-ROOM REMOTE” on the pre-amp. Then when you press either the “SPEAKER A” or the “SPEAKER B” button on the amplifier the “PROTECTOR” LED on the amp will light up momentarily. Now you can select A, B, or both sets of speakers.
