re: TA-2047

Where is the potentiometer on this model?

re: TA-2047

My Onkyo TA-2047 cassette deck will start playing for a few seconds, then it will stop, just as if I had pushed the 'stop' button. Would anyone here know what would cause this? Is it something in the mechanism that is dragging, or the cassette is itself dragging? Each time I press 'PLAY' the same thing happens! also upon rewind or fast forward, within a second or two, it just stops! Help!

re: TA-2047

Hi, Normally the reel sensing circuits are saying either Supply or Takeup has an issue. See page 4 - pins 34/35 of LM6402, should be toggling up & down. Though you may see a more obvious issue. One of the motors not working. Other brands sometimes have dry joints on the motor control transistor circuits Q713-5.
