I bought my Onkyo TX-5000 way back in the early 80's from an now defunct dealer on Rt 18 in East Brunswick, New Jersey. At the same time I bought a pair of Radian Research 2-10-8 speakers. The Onkyo powered the speakers effortlessly. The adjustment knobs and switches are laid out logically, the leads out/in are easily accessible in the back as are the speaker connections. I have really nothing negative to say about the unit except it's size. I've had problems locating it on/in cabinets suitable for it's size weight.

Bought mine new from the Sound of Music store back in 78. It was the best unit they had in the store. I have loved listening to it for all this time.
Huge power, clarity, and a depth to the phono and tape input sections.
