This is a wonderful testament to hybrid amplifiers that fuse valve designs with solid state electronics. For people who already have tried the Classic One MkI to MkIII, this is a huge jump in sound quality and SIZE too. Patterned to look like an ArtDeco piece from the 1930-40s, this integrated amplifier runs as hot as standard valve amps, but delivers a much punchier and warmer sound. Bass is perfectly tuned so long as you partner it with any brand of Italian (Sonus faber/Pathos/Opera/Chario etc) loudspeakers (position 21-35 out of the 100 step volume). For others like JBL, Focus Audio, B&W, it seems like you need to power it up to position 58 to fully 'hear' this amp's capabilities. Then again, it could be due to the resistance in the stock speaker cables used at the shop. I am using CARDAS Golden Reference, alternating with Crystal Cable Reference, and the results are well worth the price! This amplifier sings with any kind of music. Just a test for you: buy the most basic remaster of NAT KING COLE and play it - you'll be blown away! a 6 star product from a classic Italian brand!
