re: FC670

Philips gear in general is almost always spot on in terms of High, mid and low frequency reproduction. This becomes more apparent with their tape decks. Dolby B and C comes through better than my Sony ES deck. 2nd hand market prices put this Philips at a 15th of the price of a well maintained Sony 770ES. Sure it is a less desirable double bank machine, sure it has no bias adjustment and auto reverse head spinners. But you can pick these things up cheap and the playback will surprise you. So if you are looking for a cheap machine to run tapes with CD direct for playback on your walkman, or just want a machine that gives decent higher frequency playback but are on a budget, give one of these a try.
