The CT-M55R is a pretty good midrange cassette deck. The obvious feature is the ability to play 6 cassette tapes in sequence, or if you like choose any tape manually from 1 to 6 or 3 and 1 its a nice feature. It can rewind the tape you are playing or it can rewind all the tapes in the deck with a push of a button. I did give it 8 out of 10 because the record feature is unable to record B side without having to push record and direction to start recording again. This deck does have Dolby B and C, auto tape selection for chrome or standard, metal. Does have auto reverse or single direction play. The deck does have a timer for play or record with an external timer.
Record playback is not to bad I've heard worse. You can get a pretty good recording it the peak meter reading is set to +2 or + 3 without noticeable distortion. Has a record adjust and a record balance knob. Has a tape scan feature, and the counter can be set to minutes or regular meter. Over all its a good deck. I would recommend to others as quality playback deck.
