Excellent sensitivity, selectivity, and sound quality. Equal to the Pioneer TX-9500. The F-99X adds the convenience of digital tuning. Best FM tuner I have ever used.

Bought this from a Good Will and noticed NONE of the Tuner preset buttons functioned. They appeared loose and had no connection. Taking off the cover I found they had small pieces of foam attached to the buttons that was rotted into small sticky substances. These provided the spring for the buttons and gave them the proper length they need to work with the switch. The switches and LEDS worked when pushed with pencil but must find a way to repair the buttons. Build quality looks fantastic. Was VERY impressed to find a few Muse capacitors inside. Also found that the antenna output was a bit unorthodox. I hooked up standard antenna to it only to find it was for AM. only F.M. antenna was the Coaxial type. Usually high end tuners include both.

re: F-99X

Did find small foam pieces. Fixed with self adhesive foam and a dab of Shoo Goo. Worked fantastic. May Restore this beast at one point but it does have many high quality Muse caps so not sure if and when. A rare tuner that can be purchased fairly reasonable on ebay.
