I have a Pioneer SX-2800 receiver and I have to say, it has a good all around balanced stereo sound. The 5 band equallizer is a nice feature that allows you to setup/adjust the highs and lows to your preference. I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a loudness button for deeper highs and lows for low listening volumes. These units don't compare to the receivers of the 70s and early 80s but with a good pair of 8ohm speakers, it sounds nice.
