Just did service and recapping on this. If you get one with distorted sound , check 0.5Ohm current limiting resistors in output stage R5,6 and R8,9.
Beautiful rich sound , nice looking receiver worth recapping.

Fantastic look. Found one in mint condition. Stunning looks. Sound was ok after cleaning Electronics. But its a low Power receiver so use efficient speakers. Not hifi nirvana but a collecters item to show off!!!

These lower powered Pioneer amps are seriously underrated. The phono stage is consistent with pioneers cartridges, detailed and dynamic. For the price range a lot of fun. I tried restoring the dial light bulb holders (pink isolator material keeps breaking off). In the end I gave up and wired up LEDs, have had no issues since.
